For so many things that I may find so hard to say everyday.
I've been blessed by you in so many ways of which you already know,
I'm so sorry the days go by so fast and forgetting about you grows.
So today I'd like to take a moment and thank you for being my friend,
and to pray for those who do so much who may need a heart to mend.
To the families of the fallen and those fighting abroad please keep them safe and strong,
please let them know I think of them often and pray their hurt isn't long.
I am thankful today for their bravery so that I can stand here with freedom of speech,
and stand next to one of their brothers - my hero is now in arms reach.
I'm so thankful beyond words that you brought him back home to me,
my days are brighter and my mind is stronger than I ever thought it could be.
I'm thankful to you for my family and friends for always being in my life,
I'm thankful for the good days and bad to teach me wrong from right.
I'm thankful for my children and pray they'll always be healthy and bright,
no matter the struggles and hard times that will most certainly enter their life.
I pray that you'll give them the patience and the knowledge through life to see,
that the good things behind closed doors always open, to people who believe.
I'm thankful for my parents, my grandparents, and my brother,
love has and will always be given from one generation to another.
As I get older my priorities have changed from insignificant to more important,
but Lord your status has never changed, in fact your presence is more abundant.
So I give thanks this year for freedom, for friends, for my family and my religion,
As always, and in all ways, in the Lords name I pray - Amen.
